Post-Corona workshops "hybrid leadership"

Impetus to the project

After two years of successful virtual working more and more employees are returning to the office; however, working from home office has become indispensable at Universal. We aimed at supporting managers in designing a good framework for hybrid working.

The goals of the program were:

  • Providing space for exchanging good and best practices from previous phases of virtual working.

  • Learning from colleagues and realizing that hybrid leadership is challenging - for everyone.

  • Getting impulses, suggestions and tools - and try them out directly - in order to create a framework for your own area of responsibility to enable good cooperation.

  • Understanding psychological safety and learn approaches for promoting it.

What we did

We designed a compact training program that enabled a lot of learning in a short time. In doing so, it was important to us that the design included the new working environment (i.e., a mixture of synchronous (working together in the workshop) and asynchronous (i.e., individual and self-directed) preparation and follow-up.

In the two half-day workshops we also wanted to give a good example of how to quickly build trust and create a positive working atmosphere, even in a virtual working environment.

A toolbox with specific instructions and inspiration also helps to put tools and impulses into practice after the workshops.

Experience and result

This training was our first opportunity to work with Universal Music Group. It was great to see that the training was well received (from the initial three scheduled groups, it was expanded to another three groups).

The managers - who are used to devote their time to the needs of Universal’s artists and stars, - freed up time to get involved with the contents and the exchange among themselves, and really enjoyed the impulses with a lot of will to implement them.

We were also very pleased that the top management joined in and went through the program at their own request.

What our client says

This was Universal Music's first project with subject:RESOUL and we felt in very good hands throughout the entire process of creating and implementing.

It was particularly important to us in advance to create a workshop that would provide practical and, above all, tangible tools and use cases for our managers.

Thanks to the toolbox developed in the project, our managers continue to use the individual elements long after the workshops and have already been able to integrate many of the tools into their everyday work.

subject:RESOUL was able to understand our culture and address the needs of our managers in a very short time. The participating managers found the workshop instructive and valuable, so that their feedback was consistently positive and it was very worthwhile for them to take the time for the workshop.

Many thanks to subject:RESOUL for the workshops, and we look forward to further cooperation!
